This Wednesday, LitPunch is back in full force and ready celebrate an eventful first year while also kicking off an energized second year. Last year, the group encouraged folks to attend more literary happenings through its punch-card system: Participants brought their LitPunch cards to designated events, which could be turned in for prizes once full. This year, the organization plans to host more networking events and social hangouts, much like the LitPunch Mixer happening today. Judging from the success of similar gatherings, including Coffee House Press's Literal Happy Hour and MN Publishing's Tweet-Up, the refreshed model looks to be a promising one for the program. Tonight, attendees can grab drinks with staff members from the five partners — Coffee House Press, Graywolf Press, the Loft Literary Center, Milkweed Editions, and Rain Taxi Review of Books — and gab with local authors, editors, publishers, and other fellow literary-minded revelers. There will also be previews of upcoming literary events, prizes, and, of course, punch.
