Dan Harmon does what he wants. As the creator of Community, arguably one of the greatest sitcoms of all time, Harmon has developed a reputation with comedy nerds everywhere as a guy who plays by his own rules and isn't afraid to buck convention in the name of entertainment. It's that reputation that has helped him find such a passionate following for his weekly (and sometimes daily) Harmontown podcast. What's it about? Excellent question. Unlike most podcasts, which have a theme or a certain topic each week, Harmon — the "Mayor" of Harmontown — alongside his co-host Jeff Davis of Whose Line Is It Anyway? fame, explore topics such as movies, Mexican food, and Dungeons & Dragons, with some pit stops for musical interludes, characters, and the occasional meltdown. Now Harmon is bringing his delightfully random, brutally honest, and often bizarre podcast to the live stage when Harmontown stops by the Varsity later this week. What will the Mayor want to discuss? Will any special guests stop by? Will Harmon and Davis even have an agenda when they step onstage? While we can't answer any of those questions, we can guarantee that whatever happens it'll be smarter, funnier, and more random than any other live show you'll see all year. 18+.
