It's not like Yo Gotti is trying to beat you over the head with intellect. He names songs "Young Nigga Thuggin'" and "After I Fuck Ya Bitch," collaborates with folks like Zed Zilla and Sylver Karatz, and generally treads the same money-hoes-and-coke lyrical territory as his regional peers Gucci Mane and Young Jeezy. After a run of independent albums during the early- and mid-'00s, the 31-year-old Memphis rapper has spent recent years adding installments to his Cocaine Muzik mixtape series and occasionally dropping a major-label-backed record (including last January's long-gestated Live from the Kitchen LP). And while just about all of his releases have their share of overly dumb duds, they also tend to have three or four tracks that bang as hard as anything off the last Gucci or Waka tape. 18+.
