Folks will be lovers, not fighters, this Saturday night at Uppercut Gym. Instead of boxing, people will be drinking for a good cause. Eleven local breweries — Flat Earth, 612, Boom Island, Finnegans, Excelsior, Lucid, Barley Johns, Harriet, Indeed, Pour Decisions, and Herkimer — will be on hand pouring samples of their best microbrews. Meanwhile, Stanley's Northeast Bar Room will provide eats to keep guests sated in the hunger department. Tunes from Free Fallin, the Brandon Projekt, and Stereo Pirates will add to the party. Proceeds from the event will benefit Southern Anoka Community Assistance (SACA) Food Shelf in Columbia Heights, a nonprofit that aids over 550 families and seniors in dire need each month.
