The inaugural event for the MN chapter of the Arm Wrestling League for Ladies will be part sporting tournament, part benefit party, part performance art (think of the spectacle of a pro-wrestling fight, and you're heading toward the right idea). Competitors/characters battling in the bracket-style competition include Angela Death, BABE, Ms. Claws, and Helga Hammerfist. All proceeds from each event will go toward a chosen charity; Friday's celebration will raise funds for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. Here, beer consumption and bribery — through charitable donations, of course — will be welcome. A trophy will be bestowed upon the mightiest lady, and the audience will be able to vote for their "fan favorite" through cash donations. Regardless of the outcome, the evening's charity of choice will clearly be a winner. There will also be music from DJ Fat Tyra, the Shakin' Babies, and Kitten Forever. Visit mawll.org for more info.
