Thanks to The Goonies, many children of the '80s grew up hoping that someday they too would find pirate booty buried somewhere in their neighborhood. And while the chances of discovering an underground treasure trove in the Midwestern suburbs are nil, the charm and cheese of The Goonies — a tale about a group of kids who discover hidden caves filled with pirate's gold — lives on in our hearts. This Saturday, folks with nostalgia for the 1985 flick can revisit it at the January installment of Shadow Horse Theatre's A Drinking Game. Here, local actors will take the stage for an interactive table reading that will involve a healthy dose of booze consumption while inviting Rocky Horror Picture Show-style antics from the peanut gallery (you). The monthly series often sells out, so be sure to get tickets early.
