It's no secret that vintage is back in a big way. Local stores — including Fried Bologna Vintage, Via's Vintage, and Up Six Vintage — have gained popularity as destination shopping spots for fashion-forward dressers who also appreciate high style from the past. Special events happening throughout the year — including RetroRama, Mighty Vintage Pop-up Shop, and Blacklist Vintage's Vintage Did It First — further strengthen the Twin Cities vintage scene. This Tuesday, the History of Hip will return with another series of lectures at the Turf Club. Guests at January's installment will explore shoppers' ever-growing interest in vintage. Sociologist Nancy Fischer will be on hand to discuss her research on folks who buy and sell vintage, its history, and what the future of vintage may look like.
