The world may have failed to end as predicted, but just because 2012 lacked an action-packed apocalypse doesn't mean it was a slow news year. Facebook went public with its stock and everyone's information. America said hello to Honey Boo Boo, said goodbye (again) to Mitt Romney, and broke up with Lance Armstrong. The director of the CIA failed to keep his affair secret, and Paul Ryan failed to become the Magic Mike of Washington, D.C. Former Gov. Charlie Crist formally joined the Democratic party, Republicans accused current Gov. Chris Christie of unofficially going Democrat when he made the bold move of working with the president during a natural disaster, and Obama got reelected just in time for voters to peer over the edge of the fiscal cliff. In an ongoing effort to make sense of it all, Daily Show co-creator, comedian, and author Lizz Winstead will make her annual pilgrimage back home to Minnesota for her year-in-review show at Pepito's Parkway Theater. Winstead's roundup of the last 364 days of American absurdity has become an annual tradition, so popular that this year it will expand into a well-deserved three-night run. Winstead is a prolific writer, so half the fun is seeing her condense a year's worth of material and tie together all the stories you remembered, the ones you forgot, and the ones you wish you could forget. UPDATE: Due to an injury, Winstead will be combining her two New Year's Eve shows into one performance at 8:30 p.m. Call Brown Paper Tickets at 1.800.838.3006 to confirm your attendance, or to refund your tickets.
