For the second year, In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and Mask Theatre will be hosting an artsy New Year's Eve benefit bash filled with whimsy and spectacle. Burlesque dancers and larger-than-life puppets will take to the stage at various points of the evening, entertaining guests with grand spectacle. Revelers will enjoy live music and dancing as well, with sets from Tone Deaf Annies; Daddy, a Band; and Black Audience. Food will be provided by local hot spots such as World Street Kitchen, Zakia Deli, Butter Bakery, and Natedogs, and there will be beer from Harriet Brewing, wine, and champagne. As the event's title suggests, masks are the encouraged attire, and awards will be given to those with the best looks. All proceeds from the evening will go to In the Heart of the Beast Theatre, which not only hosts the MayDay Parade each spring, but also offers family-friendly entertainment, classes and workshops, and theater performances throughout the year.
