Onstage, Emily Galati will on occasion talk about the differences between men and women, but she does it from a completely fresh and hilarious perspective. "I don't pay for anything on a date," she explains. "I paid for the makeup. We're a face wash away from being friends. Turns out men and women can be friends — if they both look like men." But her set is not limited to dating. "I went to work without makeup one day and got a raise," she adds. Originally from Arizona, Galati relocated to Chicago to do improv. However, she soon took a liking to standup. "You have more control in standup," she says. "It's more you." She still does some sketch work from time to time. "Occasionally someone will ask if I want to do a YouTube sketch, but it's just not a priority." Apart from that, her focus is on standup. A few side projects have cropped up here and there, such as blogs and podcasts, but nothing seems to stick. "I lose interest very fast," she says. "I tried writing monologue jokes on a blog. I did that for three months, and I was done. You spend all this time on it, and realize hardly anyone is reading it. If anyone ever says, 'Hey, we need monologue jokes,' I can say I have some." 18+.
