Comedian Amber Preston will be hosting this month's installment of Trylon's ongoing Defenders series. Though Preston has been making rounds on the comedy circuit for almost a decade, her talent has never seemed more realized. She was named one of New York Magazine's "5 Comedians to Watch" last year, and won Laughfest's Best of Midwest award this year. Preston's act is chockfull of slap-your-forehead silly moments and self-deprecation, making her one of Acme Comedy Co.'s strongest features. "You have to laugh at my jokes, guys, or I will turn to dust," Preston quipped while opening for Dana Gould last November. "Seriously though, I have some cocaine in the back and I'm not afraid to do it." She's also a regular opener for Marc Maron whenever he's in town, and recently made an appearance on a live episode of his ever-popular WTF podcast.
