Le Cirque Rouge: Happy Holidays in the Land of Misfit Toys

This will be the 10th year that Le Cirque Rouge brings a holiday production to the stage. Past performances have included collaborations with the Ballet of the Dolls at the Ritz Theater, a benefit party at First Avenue, and an epic extravaganza at the (now defunct) 501 Club. This year's celebration will be at Amsterdam in downtown St. Paul, and should provide some healthy holiday stimulation. Taking inspiration from the popular Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, a stop-motion animation television special that originally aired in 1964 (the unloved misfit toys were added a year later), the troupe will take on various characters as they sing, dance, titillate, and entertain through special sets both naughty and nice. Courtney McClean and the Dirty Curls will also be on hand to arouse and amuse with their unique brand of randy bluegrass. (Image by Studio Betties Pinup and Boudoir Photography)
