Characterizing a comedian as "charismatic" and "high energy" seems obvious, but Kenny Kane is no ordinary comedian. A former hip-hop dancer, soccer player, and track athlete, Kane delivers hyper-kinetic, in-your-face performances that have helped him become one of the most successful, albeit polarizing, headliners in the country. His standup might not be for everyone — there's a marked Dane Cook influence present — but he's a refreshing change of pace for those seeking something a little unconventional. And like him or not, Kane's managed to garner plenty of praise from some of comedy's most revered gatekeepers. Budd Friedman, founder of the Improvisational Comedy Club, made Kane a regular at Improv at Harrah's in Las Vegas. And Denny Johnston of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno fame said Kane was a cross between legendary comedic personalities Jim Carrey and Martin Short. With Sherlonda Clarke.
