Commercial breaks are generally when viewers head to the kitchen, go to the bathroom, or press "mute" and chat with friends. This will not be the case at the popular British Arrows Awards screenings at the Walker Art Center. Here, audiences will be invited to take a look at some of the most creative, innovative, and bizarre commercials airing in the U.K. Past spots have included a building painted rainbow hues using colorful explosions, the creation of a car made only of cake and frosting, and a breast cancer awareness PSA featuring strippers. This year's crop should dazzle and amuse as well. Gather by D'Amico will be serving Brit-themed dishes during festivities, with a menu offering classic treats from the other side of the pond such as Scotch eggs, treacle tart, fish and chips, and bangers and mash. The opening-night screenings will be introduced by British Arrows board member Mark Benson. Tickets sell out fast. Check online for showtimes.
