More About

The Minnesota History Center's latest permanent exhibit, "Then Now Wow," will help bring events usually covered in state-history class to life. Taking over 14,000 square feet of the building, the new addition is the largest show to date created by the Minnesota Historical Society. Here, kids can learn about Minnesota's key moments, touching on topics including Dakota history, the fur trade, the mining industry, immigrant population shifts, and more with hands-on activities, performances, and displays. Friday and Saturday will feature special activities and happenings in celebration of the exhibit's opening. Minnesota singer-songwriter Charlie Parr will be on hand to make music, and the Center for Hmong Arts and Talent will present hip-hop and breakdance performances. There will also be trivia, cooking and beadwork demonstrations, and other fun things to keep families busy and entertained during the long holiday weekend.
