It wasn't the typical Craigslist ad; Scott Streble wasn't selling furniture or renting a room, after all. In 2006, the artist placed a post on the online resource that stated: "Wanted: Unique individuals for personal photo project." An interesting mix of people responded, including identical twins, a baker, and a man claiming to be the "only person to perform the Australian spiked torture escape." With each photo shoot, Streble sought to capture a bit of his subject's personality while exploring how people regard and describe themselves. Portraits on display come with a statement from the participant, including fun facts, confessions, and bold statements like "I come from a long line of strong-willed yet emotionally fragile women," "I can drink you under the table," and "We R unique because we R twins." There will be a public reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, November 16.
