Minnesota comedy icon Joel Hodgson is coming back to the Twin Cities for one night only to tell you how it's done. Literally. Hodgson, an actor, writer, and standup, is most famous as the creator of Mystery Science Theater 3000, wherein he and his Minnesotan pals mocked spectacularly bad movies of the past. In his one-man show at the Parkway, THE GIZMOCRAT!, Hodgson will explore his early influences and experiences in showbiz in a keynote address called "How to Have a Job Like Mine," showcase videos and memorabilia that reveal his creative process, and talk about the invention of the comedy genre of movie riffing. After the talk, Hodgson will have a Q&A session with the audience, then screen an MST3K episode to be revealed the night of the show. Cross los dedos for Manos: Hands of Fate — but any movie with Waka Jawaka in it is okay with me. 21+.
