More About
TuckUnder Gallery's latest show is a solo exhibition featuring the work of local artist Karen Kasel. Here, she will be displaying new works on paper, including drawings using oil paints, oil sticks, graphite, and colored pencils. The show's title, "Practice," speaks to her desire to reestablish her studio studies, taking inspiration from the quiet landscape and openness of the TuckUnder location. Kasel started out as a self-taught artist, eventually attending the College of Visual Arts. Her work has been seen over the last two decades in such venues as Intermedia Arts, Katherine E. Nash Gallery, Paul Whitney Larson Gallery, and the Pink Bicycle Gallery, and she has received a Jerome Travel & Study grant. She has participated in the Art Shanty Projects as well, and currently sits on their board. There will be open hours from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 25, followed by unstructured hours Wednesdays through Sundays, and by appointment. Please email info@tuckunder.org to confirm open hours.
