More About

An event featuring Oscar Wilde, Mark Twain, Anne Sexton, and Virgina Woolf is coming. The Loft Literary Center is summoning deceased literary icons for its annual Dead Writers' Party. So put on your Sylvia Plath costume, slap an Edgar Allan Poe mustache and necktie on your surly date, and get ready to mingle with the late greats of the book world. There will be a brief open mic at 6:15 p.m., followed by an undoubtedly hilarious (and possibly creepy) Ouija Board séance led by local writers Scott Wrobel, Matt Rasmussen, Nona Kennedy Carlson, and Sarah Caflisch. They'll commnue with an author from beyond the grave who will be selected via a social-media poll. Dave Schrader, co-host of the Darkness on the Edge of Town paranormal radio program, will share some of the spookiest stories he's heard on the show. Prizes will be given for the best and most creative costumes, and there will also be parlor games.
Tue., Oct. 30, 5:30 p.m., 2012
