This Thursday, Twin Cities literary and art magazine Paper Darts will be hosting a launch party for its fourth print edition at Icehouse. The event will feature an evening of poetry, live-art creation, and readings, as well as copies of the publication for sale. Paper Darts Volume Four is nearly double the size of previous issues, and is "packed with more interviews than we've ever had anywhere," says editorial director Courtney Algeo. Many of the Q&As feature artists interviewing other artists (or writers, or illustrators). It's also chock-full of art, photography, and stories. "It's thick and juicy, and can be read all night long," says Algeo. Paper Darts published its first print volume in December of 2009, with new issues released each year since then. The organization also published John Jodzio's Get in If You Want to Live in October of 2011. The launch party will include performances by Peter Bognanni, Eric Vrooman, Dylan Hicks, Jacquie Fuller, Matt Rasmussen, Steve Healy, Sally Franson, and others. Brute Heart will be there playing music, and German illustrator Olaf Hajek (in town to speak at MCAD on October 12) will be "hanging out and making life extra lovely," Algeo says.
