In today's world, certain images, logos, and characters are owned by corporations and organizations. But how does this impact the creative process of artists? This world of trademarks and copyrights will be explored in Altered Esthetics' latest group show, "©reative Property." The characters and images presented in pieces may be familiar, but each work is original. Artists have co-opted and appropriated works including the Mona Lisa and Minneapolis's Spoonbridge and Cherry as well as other familiar elements and roles from literature, television, and fine art. There will be an opening reception from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, September 7; and an artists' discussion panel at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 22. (Pictured: Spoonbridge by Tom Lubanovic)
