More About

Pottery is an amazingly diverse form of art. It can hold a warm cup of soup on a chilly day. It can make a bold statement on a dining-room table. Depending on the aesthetic preferences of the artist, it can be elegantly simple or stunningly complex. For the next three days, pottery artists from around the country will convene for Northern Clay Center's annual American Pottery Festival. Here, guests will be able to explore the wide variety of uses, production techniques, and styles of pottery art being created around the nation. The event kicks off with a benefit party Friday night where revelers can mingle, drink, and snack while shopping. The festival will continue Saturday and Sunday with items on display and for sale, plus slide talks. For an additional fee, folks can sign up for various artist-led workshops and demonstrations. The happening also serves as a benefit for the Northern Clay Center. (Pictured: Work by Meredith Host)
