More About

Pleasure Rebel, a series celebrating queer artists working in dance, performance art, and video, marks its one-year anniversary with two shows this week at Bryant-Lake Bowl. The event, curated by Nastalie Bogira, offers a chance for artists to push boundaries by "queering" the art form they are working in. The evening includes performance artist Miré Regulus's "Is It the Water or Is It the Well?: Dust to Dawn"; Emmett Ramstad, Sinan Goknur, and Kelley Meister's "Starting a Queer Art Manifesto," a piece about what it means to be queer artists; and Karen Sherman's "Let's Not Be Polite," which will include work-in-progress material from a project that will premiere in April 2013 at Dance Place in Washington, D.C. The Pussy & BoneHound Show will also be presented.
Aug. 29-30, 7 p.m., 2012
