More About

Robin Stiehm's Dancing People Company began in Minneapolis and moved to Oregon eight years ago. Stiehm, a brilliant dancer who performed with the Minnesota Dance Theatre and New Dance Ensemble, creates dances that are intensely musical, vibrantly theatrical, innovative, and intelligently crafted. These performances incorporate works created for her Oregon company, and for some of the most compelling performers in town including Mathew Janczewski, Mary Ann Bradley, and Krista Langberg. Janczewski reprises Stiehm's "Threshold," a solo in which he lies on, paces around, and even burrows under a piece of sod. Getting down and dirty, Janczewski also navigates a range of emotions and attitudes toward this small parcel of land. Other works include "Forward Reminiscence" (also on sod), a spanking-new duet for Bradley and Langberg, and "Obstacles to Perfection," a take on the seven deadly sins. In the Sewell Tek Box theater.
