Irish Fair of Minnesota

For three days, Harriet Island will host the largest free Irish festival in the nation. Here, guests will find a variety of activities and entertainment in an area boasting lovely views of downtown St. Paul. Headliners on the music stage are Gaelic Storm and the Young Dubliners. The Atlantic Steps will be showcasing their impressive dance skills, and youth and adult students from 10 different Irish dance schools will be performing as well. Looking to work on your own moves? There will be ceili- and set-dance lessons, as well as open social-dance sessions, at the Crossroads tent. The sporting competitions are another popular aspect to the event, with hurling, Gaelic football games, and open practice. Contests this year include photography, baking, and the ever-saucy "Best Legs in a Kilt" battle. Food, beer, genealogy stands, and artist booths round out the happening.
