Seward Co-op has been a part of the neighborhood since 1972. To honor turning the big 4-0, it will be throwing an epic birthday bash this Saturday. Head over to East River Flats Park, where musical acts including Willie Murphy, the Bunny Clogs, and the Brass Messengers will entertain. There will be plenty of delicious food as well, of course. Chowgirls Killer Catering, Chef Shack, Barrio Taco Truck, and Izzy's ice cream are among the businesses dishing out treats, as well as sausage from the Seward itself. Thirsty? Sip some beer, root beer, or ginger ale from Flat Earth brewery, and chat with community organizations. Folks from the Walker will be on hand with fun activities for kids, and there will be family-friendly folk music as well.
