While performances of plays by Shakespeare traditionally abound in parks during the summer months, it's not every day that you get to see top dancers do their thing in the great outdoors. Fortunately, Christopher Watson Dance Company offers folks the opportunity to do just that with their Dances at the Lakes Festival. Over 50 professional dancers and students will perform at the Lake Harriet Rose Garden this weekend in two different programs featuring flamenco, drum and dance, modern dance, ballet, and more. Stop over at Lake Harriet's Bread & Pickle restaurant for a snack, or bring a blanket and some picnic treats to enjoy during the show.
