Event organizers have dubbed this two-day celebration "Oktoberfest in June." That seems pretty fair, given the slew of German-themed activities planned for the weekend. The event kicks off 8 a.m. on Saturday with the always entertaining Lederhosenlauf 5K, where folks will run in their best milkmaid, lederhosen, or beer-themed get ups. Later in the evening from 5 to 10 p.m. is the Sommerparty, where there will be beer, food, and live music. Afterward, night owls can step indoors for the Tanzparty in the Ratskellar basement with DJ Ben spinning Eurotunes. The party continues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday with family-friendly activities, treats (including Grand Ole Creamery's beer-flavored ice cream), and more shenanigans. Added bonus: This year's celebration will also feature a nationally touring German Biergarten replica from the city of Munich.
