This weekend, Katha Dance Theater celebrates 25 years of presenting the Indian form of Kathak dance in vital interactions with other art forms. For these concerts, Katha reunites with Zorongo Flamenco, gospel singer Robert Robinson, and Ethnic Dance Theater for an evening of world dance and live music that crosses borders and vibrantly intertwines traditions. Especially wonderful is choreographer/director Rita Mustaphi's collaboration with gospel singer Robinson, a roiling, rocking fusion that smacks of both Bollywood and robust spirituality.
