More About

You never know where Skewed Visions will show up. The haunting, disturbing "Strange Love" (2007) took place in a former coffin factory. "He Woke Up in a Strange Place Called Home and Although Looking for Bed He Kept Finding Death Instead" (2010) started in the home of arts patron Nor Hall, then rambled down sidewalks and into backyards in the neighborhood. The third work in what might be called Charles Campbell's existential/surreal, reality/displacement series is "Black Water," which will be staged in an abandoned market. Interdisciplinary and immersive, the piece was inspired by W.G. Sebald's novel Austerlitz and drone warfare. Violence is ever present, memory is best erased, and tranquility is rapidly dispersed. Campbell returns as a character in his own dream, aided by dancers Megan Mayer and Laurie Van Wieren. Irve Dell designed the staging, Elliott Durko Lynch the sound, Heidi Eckwall the lighting, and projected images are by Kevin Obsatz. Space is limited. For tickets, visit www.brownpapertickets.com.
