More About

This Saturday, the Minnesota Center for Book Arts will celebrate Japanese paper and book art. The Harukaze Festival, a.k.a. "spring wind" fest, will feature hands-on activities, demonstrations, new art, and more. Guests both young and old can try their hand at suminagashi paper marbling, binding their own mini-ledger books, or folding paper to create shapes through origami. Calligraphy, bookbinding, and paper-cutting artists will be on hand as well to introduce people to these unique skills. The day also serves as an opening reception for three related exhibitions, featuring brush, book, and environmentally friendly arts. (Annie Bissett, American Bible Story)
Sat., May 19, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., 2012
