More About

Acoustic folk-pop trio the Lower 48 quickly made local scene waves in the summer of 2009 with the release of their debut EP, Everywhere to Go, then just as quickly split town for Portland, Oregon, by that year's end. In hindsight, the album title was a dead giveaway. The group's first full-length, Where All Maps End, dropped this past fall and finds the close harmonies of fresh-faced troubadours Ben Braden and Sarah Parson matched with breezy campfire sing-along folk tunes accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Nick Sadler. While the sparser songs can be too digestable — Braden and Parson's gentle vocals are sometimes too pristine for their own good — the band largely comes off as endearingly original. With Sky Lion.
