One of the best signs of spring has to be the arrival of outdoor street festivals, St. Paul's Cinco de Mayo Celebration being an excellent example. This daylong party celebrating culture and community features tons to do and see. At 10 a.m. a parade filled with folks in traditional costume, colorful floats, musicians, and performers will make their way from the intersection of Plato and Wabasha, moving along Cesar Chavez Street to Ada. During the day people will be able to snack on food from vendors and nearby restaurants, take in dance and live music on entertainment stages, and enjoy family activities in the kids' zone. There will also be historic and cultural exhibits on display, arts and crafts in the community village area, and a sports zone for those who like watching sports or participating in them (the climbing wall sounds like a fun way to spend an afternoon). Motor enthusiasts will want to check out the Lowrider Car Show, which includes categories such as street rods, paint jobs, hydraulic set up, mini-trucks, and low rider bikes.
