This year's Biblio Bash book party, hosted by local literary publisher Coffee House Press, will hardly be a quiet affair. Instead, the celebration will have more of a county-fair vibe, with popcorn to snack on and "barkers" drawing you in to play games. During the night, revelers will be invited to dance to DJ sets from the Current's Jacquie Fuller and listen to music from Dylan Hicks as he performs tunes from Sings Bolling Greene, a companion album to his first novel, Boarded Windows (Coffee House Press). Bedlam Theatre will be giving dramatic performances inspired by books and taking suggestions from the crowd as well. Local authors will be competing against celebrants at the Grammar Gauntlet, where they'll be playing word-inspired games. Folks can also try their hand at abstract poetry or sparse prose at the giant Magnetic Poetry wall, or create a little art themselves with the help of the Minnesota Center for Books Arts and the Walker Art Center. Proceeds benefit Coffee House Press. For more info, visit www.coffeehousepress.org/biblio-bash.
