Floral arrangement is an art in and of itself, so what happens when florists take museum works as their point of inspiration? This is the premise behind Art in Bloom, the Minneapolis Institute of Arts' springtime fundraiser festival featuring more than 150 floral interpretations of works from the collection on display, talks, demonstrations, guided tours, parties, workshops, and more. Events kick off Thursday with daytime talks, followed by Flowers After Hours: Haute-House Garden. From 6 to 9 p.m. guests will be invited to view pieces, chat with artists (be they floral, fashion, or paintbrush), and watch a flower/art-inspired runway show highlighting work from local designers. Saturday's events are family-friendly from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and include a scavenger hunt, storytelling, and art-making activities. Be sure to check online for a complete list of lectures, workshops, and events.
