This weekend, Minnesota's favorite storyteller Kevin Kling will be making an appearance at Free First Saturday at the Walker Art Center. Kling has previously earned accolades as a performer and MPR commentator, and now, with his first foray into writing children's books, has won good reviews from Kirkus Review and Publisher's Weekly. Big Little Brother (MHS Press), co-authored and illustrated by painter and cartoonist Chris Monroe, was released last November. It tells the story of a four-year-old boy whose two-year-old brother is taller than he is. It's a major case of sibling rivalry until the older brother realizes that having a "big little brother" can actually have benefits. Kling is a master storyteller, and will be sure to delight audiences of all ages as he narrates the book at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Walker Cinema. Other family activities taking place include an opportunity to make a larger-than-life tooth sculpture and a felt garden.
