These days it seems like everyone has their own podcasts—especially nerds. But very few have the following and street cred (or is it pod cred?) of The Nerdist. Hosted by standup comedian/television host (Web Soup, Talking Dead)/author/nerd-king Chris Hardwick, the series has become one of the most well-known and consistently funny programs on the web. It's become so popular, in fact, that the show has recently taken to the small screen with a handful of television specials on BBC America. Now Hardwick, along with his Nerdist co-hosts Matt Mira and Jonah Ray, are bringing their podcast to the stage with two live performances at the Varsity Theater this Friday night. The show has quickly become the go-to spot for all nerds—including really famous ones like Conan O'Brien and Willem Dafoe—who are looking to talk about culture, comedy, and swear words. (They don't swear all the time, but the fact that Conan dropped a few F-bombs was kind of awesome.) While there are no announced guests or topics at this point, the early show is already sold out, which was cause for a second show to be added. No matter what the gang decides to tackle, we can guarantee that this will be the nerdiest party in town this weekend. And we mean that in the most awesome way possible. 18+.
