Since writing his first book, Areas of My Expertise, John Hodgman has been a PC personified in a commercial campaign for Apple, a resident expert on The Daily Show, and a deranged millionaire with a well-groomed mustache on They Might Be Giants' Venue Songs DVD/CD. In his most recent book, That Is All, he finishes his quest to provide a compendium of what humans knew before the apocalypse, describing how the world will end and how he and the other wealthy elite will fly off in their Richard Branson-owned spaceships. He'll be appearing at the Varsity Theater this Thursday to promote this work. Fun fact: According to the book, on this day The Situation will reveal that his favorite film is The Third Man as a sign of the apocalypse. Hodgman will be joined onstage by Kevin Murphy and Bill Corbett from MST3K and Rifftrax. What they'll be doing is unknown, but they'll be on tour together for the next week or so. 18+.
