What's in a hip-hop move? Since Philadelphia choreographer Rennie Harris began re-staging this urban street dance for the concert stage, rigorously deconstructing hip hop into a primal scream, the form has revealed new meanings and acquired deeper resonance. Minneapolis choreographer B-Boy J-Sun (a.k.a. Jason Noer) is our local ambassador for hip hop's translation from the asphalt to the stage. With guest artists Dancin' Dave, Arturo Miles, SugaMomma, AnnieUp, Ivy Morrison, and Step Child, J-Sun will explore the foundations and evolution of hip hop here and around the world.
