Be thankful that St. Patrick's Day falls on a Saturday this year. If you want to go to the earlier parade, you won't have to worry about finding a way to skip out of work. If you plan on drinking, you'll have Sunday to be hungover and recoup. And if you're the type who hops a bus and heads into downtown on the weekends anyway, you'll be able to score free rides after 6 p.m. on MetroTransit. The Minneapolis St. Patrick's Day Parade (763.234.7111, www.mplsstpats.org) starts a little later in the day, with things commencing at 6:30 p.m. at Nicollet Mall and 13th Street, and then traveling to Fifth Street. Irish pubs nearby include the Local, Kieran's Irish Pub, and O'Donovan's Irish Pub.
