While artists, authors, and performers often talk about the creative process, it is rare that audiences have the opportunity to see exactly what that is. Perhaps this is because what is sometimes pretentiously termed "the creative journey" is fraught with embarrassing failures, simple mistakes, and comical angst. This is not the case in Tarnish&Gold's latest exhibition, "Rough Draft." Here, artists Chuck U and Lizardman will display original ink-on-paper sketches, revealing bits of truth on how they go about creating their layered, intricate, and humorous pieces. Expect to see the kind of doodles you wished you could draw while bored in class, featuring images of unicorn kittens, RoboCop, bespectacled pups driving motorcycles, and complex machines.
