You never know where life will take you. Just ask Marc Maron. The standup comedian has gone from gigs at clubs to hosting shows on TV and radio to the forefront of podcasting. He is currently one of the most popular personalities in that last medium with his series, WTF with Marc Maron. It seems to be the best fit yet for the New Mexico native. "I got involved in Air America having no experience in radio, and not being that in-depth in my understanding of politics," he says from his home in Los Angeles. "I was relieved to get out of that world and into the podcasting world where I can express political views only when I feel like it." While that subject does come up from time to time, Maron gets into some nice in-depth conversations with his peers. Some are friends, others are acquaintances, and others he hasn't met until that person shows up at his garage/studio. Maron is so adept at interviewing that some listeners may not realize that he is still a hilarious comic. It could be argued that WTF has made him that much better onstage. "The [standup] shows are going great," he says. "A lot of people who don't know me as a standup are coming to the shows, and a lot of people who aren't necessarily comedy fans are coming out." 18+.
