February is American Heart Month, and Minnesota will celebrate in a big way with its first annual Red Dress Collection fashion show. The party, modeled after Mercedes Benz Fashion Week's popular event, showcases local talent while educating women on heart health. Carly Aplin, host of CW Twin Cities and founder of Minnesota's Red Dress Collection, partnered with MNFashion to produce the runway show as part of its spring fashion festival. "This is a fantastic way to localize such a great national event, and to teach women about heart disease," Aplin says. The evening will feature a runway show with Twin Cities designers creating one-of-a-kind dresses for local celebrities who will then model the looks. Guests can also participate in a silent auction. Proceeds will benefit the University of Minnesota Physicians Heart: Women's Heart Program. Designers include Christopher Straub, Danielle Everine, Laura Fulk, Emma Berg, Maritza Ramirez, Max Lohrbach, Rachel Blomgren, and others. Visit www.tempotickets.com/reddressmn for tickets.
