While letter writing may seem quaint these days, there's a certain elegence in handwritten love notes that is unmatched in this era. Will future generations fawn over old Twitter texts from celebrities as the paragon of bygone romance? That is a question to be answered many years in the future. This Valentine's Day, however, romantics at heart will have the opportunity to listen to poetry, stories, and love letters from the likes of Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Emily Browning, and others. Some readings will be passionate, others humorous, so there should be something to relate to, no matter where your heart is. Do you have a favorite piece from the era? Bring it to share with others. Following the reading and open mic, the James J. Hill House will have tours and refreshments.
