It was with little fanfare that Todd Glass made an announcement on Marc Maron's WTF podcast a few weeks ago. The 47-year-old comic came out, and for the most part he's never felt better. "I still have a coming-out hangover," he laughs, "but it's been unbelievably good. It just makes life easier and better." The two motivating factors for Glass were simple honesty about whom he was, and the fact that he felt he could be a positive example to others. "I still don't think anyone should do it until they're ready," he points out. "I will never tell somebody, 'You've got to do this.' I can say it's a good idea and for me, personally, it was the right time, because every time a kid killed himself I felt like I had blood on my hands. But that was just me, that's not my message to anyone else who isn't ready. I totally respect where they are, and that's where they should be." Glass himself has a new podcast called the Todd Glass Show, which offers an expanded version of his sometimes silly stage demeanor. On one episode, for example, Glass and fellow comic Jimmy Pardo subtly slip into a bit about Pardo being a singer/songwriter back in the late '70s, and hanging out who with people like Joni Mitchell and David Crosby. "I think repetition is funny," Glass says. "To just to go on, and on. It can flop like crazy, or it can be instantly funny." 18+
