This weekend, the City of the Lakes Loppet will entertain folks with a variety of wintertime activities. Sporting events going on at various locations around town include a bike race on a short track made of ice, a race around the Lake of the Isles that allows both humans and dogs to participate, and races for those 18 and under. Special happenings during the weekend festival include a snow sculpting contest, a beer and brats garden, and ski games for children. Saturday night will also feature the Park Nicollet Luminary Loppet, a nighttime hike with luminaries adding to the lovely scenery along the lakes.
