Jeff Ross has roasted pretty much everyone. Celebrities, fellow comedians, and even Batman have felt his comedic wrath and found themselves burned by the Roastmaster General. Now it's Minneapolis's turn. This Saturday, the insult comic makes his first-ever Minnesota appearance at the Varsity as part of his Jeff Ross Roasts America tour. He promises not to pull any punches. "I've got some Steve Jobs and Kim Jong Il jokes I'm planning to test out, so we'll see if people are ready for those just yet," he says. While famous folks may be some of his primary targets, Ross is an equal-opportunity roaster and dedicates a segment of his show to ripping on audience members who want to get dissed by a pro. "It's called speed roasting, and what I do is invite people onstage who want to feel about 15 seconds of pain," he explains. "I only go after people who volunteer, so no one is allowed to take a swing at me, but we get a bunch of people up there and I just machine gun it down the line." While his jokes might be cutting, Ross insists he only roasts the ones he loves (which also happens to be the title of his memoir), and he's excited to add the Varsity crowd to his ever-growing hit list. "If you're fat, tall, short, or ugly, you have a responsibility to come to my show." All ages.
