Did you recently resolve to start putting yourself out there in all your plucky, nerdy glory? Geeks on the prowl should hit up the Dating for Nerds New Year's Resolutions Party this Saturday. The event is organized by Nerds @ Heart, a dating company that hosts parties in Chicago and the Twin Cities. The evening features surefire icebreakers such as pub trivia and board games, all themed around the resolution of living the best geek life possible. "The thing we get compared to the most often is speed dating," says event organizer Bathsheba Birman, "but as one of our Twin Cities hosts says, we're the un-speed dating. We're slow dating. It's a really relaxed environment, not the kind where you have a checklist and three minutes to decide whether someone measures up or not." Even if you don't experience chemistry across a crowded room, the community will be chill and cerebral.
