For the Love Of...

Soo Visual Arts Center's latest exhibition features a unique collaboration between the gallery and Spectrum ArtWorks. In the show, 12 artists living with mental illness explore their creative inspirations. Spectrum Artworks, a program of the nonprofit organization RESOURCE, provides studio space and community for such artists while striving to educate the public by breaking down stigma. "For the Love of..." will feature work in a range of styles from various talents, including In the Heart of the Beast staff artist Cecile Bellamy, Jamaican-born Audrey Bernard, and cynTHIA, who works mainly with glass, mosaic, and watercolor. There will also be work by Christi Furnas, who is a Peer Support Specialist at Spectrum. The opening reception is from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, January 12.
