For "Preoccupied," the latest show at Gallery 122 at Hang It, Edie Overturf and Lauren Schuppe will exhibit their wood-block prints and original wallpaper. Overturf's detailed prints include women picnicking, hanging out in bars with rabbits, riding in wheelbarrows, and enjoying rural farm settings. Schuppe works with paper in interesting and delicate ways, be it through wallpaper (which she designs as cofounder of Kick.Stand.Press) or intricate cut-out pieces. Together, the two have founded LEG UP Studios in the Casket Arts Building, which offers print facilities for artists by the day and membership rates. The opening reception will feature live music by the Extreme Stylings of Christopher White and Gilpin Matthewsis from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, January 13. (Edie Overturf)
